Lifestyle Motoryachts, the authorised Fairline dealer in Victoria, Australia, has purchased an Ultra 20 for its Targa 38 Gran Turismo (GT) after visiting the Ultrasonic Antifouling Ltd (UAL) stand at the PSP Southampton Boat Show.
The Targa 38 GT, which is currently in build at the factory, features a hardtop and the fastest ever speed of a Fairline boat and was launched at this year’s show. To help maintain optimum hull performance of the yacht, Lifestyle Motoryachts approached UAL for the perfect antifouling solution.
The Ultra Series II, also at the show for the first time, is a design engineered system using environmentally friendly high frequency, low power sound waves to destroy algae and prevent weed and barnacle growth, thus protecting a hull from fouling.
Long-term, independent testing has shown that the Ultra Series II is the most efficient system on the market, incorporating a professional streamlined control box and a new low profile transducer which is 15% more efficient and can be disconnected from the cable for fitting with watertight plug connectors.
David Besser of Lifestyle Motoryachts, commented: “With speed being one of the main features of the Targa 38 GT, we want to ensure that the hull will be appropriately maintained. By preventing underwater fouling, the Ultra 20 will allow for optimum speeds for faster passage times and reduce fuel costs by minimising drag. We are confident that this revolutionary system will play a key part in keeping the hull clear.”
